Do you remember these things?
What was it about these that always made us freeze in our tracks and beg for a quarter?
The toys were cheap, the jewelry was poisonous, and you never got the prize on the front that you wanted.
Yet to this day I always do a double take when I pass by a row of these. In that moment, the only thing that could make my life worth living again is 25 cents.
For a split second I feel like I'm 5 again..
lol i just used on couple hours ago, feels good man
ReplyDeleteWhat sort of prizes could you get from these when you were a child? What kind can you get now?
ReplyDeleteOMG I still get stuff from these all the time, i use to collect sticky hangs.
ReplyDeleteI remember a gumball machine that had a mechanical chicken in it that would 'lay' you a gumball. It played this crazy song which the chicken spun around & freaked out. I would love to see another of these awesome machines!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I ever recieved anything from one of these and walked away thinking "I'm happy with my purchase"

ReplyDeleteAhhh, I remember back in the day the arcade games that were only 25 cents, and that my mom would never let me play because they were "too expensive." Today I realize she was just being a jerk. heh
